Installation

Before you begin

Before installation, review the technical requirements and obtain the correct installation packages.

The administrator should make a current backup of the website files and database. Perform the first installation in a test environment whenever possible.

Installing the component

1. Sign in to the Joomla administrator area.
2. Go to System → Install Extensions.
3. Open the option to install from a package file.
4. Select com_marta-{version}.zip.
5. Wait for the message confirming that the installation has completed.

Do not close or refresh the page while the package is being uploaded and installed.

What does the component install?

The Joomla installer:

• registers the MARTA component;
• copies the administrator and site files;
• installs the Polish and English language files;
• publishes the component’s CSS and JavaScript assets;
• creates the tables used to store buildings, rooms, groups, activities and timetables.

Verifying the installation

After installation:

1. Open MARTA from the Joomla Components menu.
2. Confirm that the MARTA Dashboard is displayed.
3. Confirm that Joomla does not display an error message.

If MARTA does not appear in the menu, refresh the administrator area, sign out and sign in again, then check the Joomla messages and PHP error log.

Installing the optional module

Install the timetable module as a separate package after installing the component:

1. Upload mod_marta_schedule_days-{version}.zip using the Joomla extension installer.
2. Open the site module manager.
3. Confirm that MARTA — schedule days appears in the list.

Installing the module does not configure or publish it automatically. The module is optional and is not required to use the MARTA component.
