An album is an ordered set of photos from the main library. The same photo can belong to several albums without creating additional copies of its original file.

Album list

Each card shows a title, category, state, active-photo count and—when selected—a cover. A graphical album symbol is shown when no cover has been selected.

Tools above the list let you:

  • search by title and alias;
  • find one record by entering ID: followed by the album number;
  • filter by state;
  • filter by category;
  • sort by order, date, title, state or category;
  • change the number of cards per page.

Creating an album

  1. Select New in the Joomla toolbar or Create album in the library header.
  2. Enter the required Title.
  3. Optionally change the Alias. Leaving it empty creates one automatically.
  4. Set the description, category, state, access and ordering on the Other tab.
  5. Select Save to enable the photo tab, or Save & Close.

An alias must be unique within its category. The same alias may be used in a different category.

Album states

  • Published — the album can appear on the website if the remaining access conditions are met.
  • Unpublished — the album remains in the panel but is not available on the frontend.
  • Trashed — the album is waiting to be restored or permanently deleted.

For bulk state changes, select cards and use Publish, Unpublish or Trash in the Joomla toolbar. Permanent deletion is available after selecting the Trashed state filter.

Album ordering

Each category has its own album order. To enable dragging:

  1. Select Ordering ascending as the sort order.
  2. Drag a card or its handle between albums in the same category.
  3. Wait for the automatic save confirmation.

Dragging requires Edit State permission for every album visible on the current page. If it is unavailable, check permissions and the active sort order.

An album cannot be dragged into another category; change its category in the album form. While one category is being arranged, other category cards are temporarily disabled. Keyboard users can focus the handle and use Alt with the arrow keys.

This order is used by the frontend Albums in a category view. Selecting another temporary sort order in the administrator area does not change the saved public order.
