Photos in this album becomes available after the album’s first save. It shows assigned photos that are not in the trash. Adding and removing photos, changing their order and choosing a cover are saved immediately, once LENA confirms the action.

Adding photos from the library

Select Add photos.
In Choose photos, search by title, alternative text or file name.
Select one or several photos.
Select Add selected.

You can select up to 200 photos at once. Add larger numbers in several batches.

Photos already belonging to the album are marked and will not be assigned again. The selector loads the library in batches of 60; use Load more when required.

New assignments are placed at the beginning or end of the album according to the global Where photos are added in an album option. Changing the option does not rearrange existing content. Photos added from the library retain the order in which you select them.

Uploading directly into an album

Upload from device lets you select or drag several files. Each successful upload:

is added to the main library;
is assigned to the current album automatically;
receives the album’s currently saved title as its initial title.

This differs from importing through the main library, where a title is based on the file name. After uploading a batch directly into an album, open its photos and give them individual titles and alternative text.

Each file is placed at the beginning or end according to the component option. When adding at the end, photos retain their upload order. When adding at the beginning, each successive file goes before the previous one: uploading A, B, C produces C, B, A. Check the photo order when the upload finishes.

If some files are rejected, successfully uploaded photos remain in the album. Retry only the rejected files.

Changing photo order

An album loads photos in batches of 60. If Load more appears below the grid, use it to load the complete album before manual dragging. Then drag a card into the required position. A vertical line indicates the destination and the order is saved automatically. Every public occurrence of the album uses the same order.

For keyboard operation, focus a card and use Alt with the arrow keys. If someone changes the album contents concurrently, LENA may reject the order update; refresh the page and arrange the photos again.

Moving a group to the beginning or end

You do not need to load every photo to arrange a large album quickly:

Select the selection control on every required card.
On the action bar, choose Move selected to the beginning of the album or Move selected to the end of the album.
Wait for the automatic-save confirmation.

The action works against the complete album even when only its first batch is loaded in the browser. It preserves the relative order of the selected photos. Clear selection removes the selection without changing the album.

Selecting a cover

Point to a photo and select its empty star. A filled star identifies the current cover. The cover:

must belong to the album;
is used in the administrator album list;
is used by the public Albums in a category view.

An album without a selected cover still works, but its category card displays a neutral placeholder. Detaching the cover photo from the album clears the cover selection. Trashing a cover photo temporarily prevents it from being displayed; the retained relationship may work again after restoration.

Editing photo data

Select a photo to open the viewer. If you have permission to edit photos, you can change its title, alternative text and description, then select Save changes. This information is shared across all albums using the photo. The standard gallery uses alternative text but does not display the Description field.

Removing a photo from the album

Select the cross on the card and confirm. This removes only the assignment to the current album. The original, image variants and other album assignments remain unchanged.

To remove the photo itself from every location, use the photo trash after checking its album list.
